Is the amount of flagyl prescribed enough?

My doc, Dr J prescribed flagyl for 2 days out of entire 3 weeks. Is this enough to clear out all the lyme cysts and other confection? Also, I have an event I need to go to which is luckily on my week off from antibiotics. Will taking flagyl a week before this event give me enough time to recover? How long do the herxes last? Also how long does it take for flagyl to start working

in his presentations he describes how tetracyclines and cephalosporins - which are the abx he likes to start people on for lyme - are known to cause the lyme spirochetes to enter their encysted or round body forms in large numbers. this is supported by the literature.

he describes that the 2 day pulses of flagyl ( or the related drug tinidazole) are then used after a week of these abx to kill the cyst forms. flagyl is documented to have activity against cyst forms

so there is a reasonable basis for his approach

he is a smart guy - if a bit unusual - but in my view quite insightful and undoubtedly devoted to helping people - i think you are in good hands.
