Yo-Yo On An Up Escalator

I find myself thinking about how I would like to develop a treatment for pathogens that mitigated a seemingly endless stream of reactionary symptoms. The very nature of treatment makes it very difficult for me to gauge how well I am doing. I am not getting any worse and the general trend is op which I guess I should be looking at.
