Hi everyone, I just found out that the Uterine Fibroid Embolisation that I had last fall did not work and I will need a hysterectomy. I am only 38 but have been dealing with fibroids for over ten years. I am really hoping that I can keep at least one of my ovaries so that I do not go into early menopause. Have any of you ladies had a hysterectomy? Or even just a major surgery since having Lyme? If so how did you do? I had a spinal fusion when I was 16 but that was pre Lyme. Thanks for your help!
I didn’t get a hysterectomy but I had surgery for a breast reduction.
After having a baby, my breasts got very big - bra size was 34 DD. And with my small frame - It was horrible. I had indents on top of my shoulders where the straps were.
Then when Lyme happened, I lost more weight and my whole upper left side hurt.
My GP was very supportive when I mentioned getting a reduction. At that time, for it to be covered under our medical plan a surgeon had to agree that it was needed and not “just” for cosmetic reasons.
At the initial consult the surgeon said with my tiny frame - she recommended I have the reduction.
I was kind of scared/worried - but I went for it.
Haven’t ever regretted it.
Big boobs just aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.
** I healed fine from the surgery.**
And my Lyme didn’t flare…
