I have tested negative for Borrelia but have a P41 and P39 reactive abnormal. My primary care said that means I am immune. I experience numbness in my hands and feet with some variations in my blood pressure and heart rate when I move about. A neurologist said I have a pinched nerve in my lower back that goes down my left leg, but didn't say anything about my right leg, or my hands. I currently live in an area (Myrtle Beach, SC) where doctors aren't familiar with lyme. I came from Virginia, so I expect that is where I got the tick bite. I am really concerned and I need some help on if this is related to lyme or just something else.

Band 39 is a Lyme specific band. Only Lyme will make it show up
Did you see the spot where the tick but you?

How long ago did you get the bite?

If it’s in the past few weeks - you can treat it with antibiotics - such has doxycycline for several weeks to reduce chance of it becoming a chronic infection which can turn into many months/years of treatment.

You have Lyme. Like girlie said, band 39 is Lyme specific. Lyme specific band plus symptoms equals Lyme.

I do know of an ISEAI doc in Myrtle Beach. Not sure if she uses abx or not, but you can check there. Not sure her experience treating Lyme. https://natashathomasmd.com/

I am in coastal GA area. I have a doc from MD who is also licensed in GA. She hasn’t traveled here since COVID, though.

EDIT: I apologize. I shouldn’t have sounded so adamant that you have Lyme. I reread the details again. You do have symptoms that could easily be Lyme, and it sounds like the doctors’ responses didn’t adequately answer or address the root problem. You are right to push for answers and clarity.

I just looked at the website of the doctor that I linked previously. She does talk about Lyme and coinfections, so she may be a good option if you want someone close. She’s also a Functional MD, so she should be able to help with a lot of things that MD’s don’t know enough about - hormones, cortisol and adrenal function, thyroid, sleep, digestion, detoxing, etc.

Thought of you when I saw today where it looked like someone was using IVIG for jab injury. Not sure that too much progress had been made after several treatments.

My heart rate gradually goes up after standing up and moving around. It can go from around 75 BPM sitting to the nineties and around one hundred or so. I don't feel dizzy, so I don't believe my blood pressure drops, but I will check. As you would expect, I am really concerned, as I haven't experienced that before.

I just scheduled an appointment with Dr Natasha Thomas. Her next available appointment is not until November 1st and of course she is an out of network provider. I sure hope this works/helps, because my first visit will be $895 with my $725 deductible. 60/40 after that.
