Hi everyone, I am having a hysterectomy in a few weeks. I am really worried about theAnesthesia since I have a double MTHFR mutation. Dose anyone have any suggestions on how to detox my body especially my brain. I read that I can not use the sauna or take a bath for six weeks after the surgery. I am already dealing with long covid symptoms and have dealt with derealization for years so adding in more toxins really scares me. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't know of MTHFR playing a significant role in the metabolism of most drugs including anesthetics.

However, impaired detox, cytochrome p450, or kidney function can certainly be a risk. Also anesthetics tend to lower blood pressure, if you have autonomic instability or HPA dysfunction this can be a risk due to unstable blood pressure.

My LLMD generally advocates increasing glutathione for situations like this. And good luck, CLB! May this surgery relieve many of your issues and help your body stabilize!

Thank you so much for your help I am praying that I get through this surgery ok. I think a few places do offer glutathione IVs around here, do you think that would be beneficial? Thank you both again.

a myers with vit c really helped .the methlcobamin shots may be inborder to help the methlation pathway open up. maybe give celcore biotoxin binder a try
