Does anyone know if there is anywhere online selling generic Mepron that's not super expensive ?

I can't find it either and just spent a good amount of time looking. However, I might be able to provide some additional information as to why. It's not produced in India. Meaning, not even if you were a local there. I'm not sure why that is.

There's a veterinary version but you would need a script for that too...

I checked some of the Russian websites and they don't have it either. They might have it locally but I don't know how to check that as I don't speak Russian.

I do know some doctors and even online services will easily prescribe malarone as prophylaxis for trips to "exotic" locations. I know Malarone is not what you asked for but just in case. You might be able to explain your situation to them and ask for Atovaquone by itself (without Proguanil).

They give you a prescription too, all online. Usually they don't ask that many questions.

thanks both - that's in line with what i have found

i had heard that someone is making generic liquid form Atovaquone - but haven't come across a source - and given the price of Branded Mepron - i doubt they would feel the need to market it at a low cost - whereas most generics are marketed in many low cost countries - and competition keeps prices low

getting Malarone is no issue - most of the usual online sources have it - i ideally wanted just atovaquone as i dont know if proguanil has a broader spectrum - so less useful for therapeutic trials if this is in the mix.

i have read that Dr Lindner in his presentations on babesia says that Atovaquone is specific to protozoa like malaria and babesia - and will not cause herx then improvement in other infections

does this hold true for Malarone i wonder?
would be interested in others view on that

i guess artemisinin or Artemether is another option for babesia specific therapeutic trial - but i have a feeling that these have some broader activity - eg for Bart acc to Dr SP - if so that would confound things
