armin labs is one of the better labs - the best in Europe i think
but testing overall is not great for all of these infections - in that all of the tests tend to miss positive cases.
this is not the labs fault. its known that serology based tests ( tests measuring antibodies) are problematic in chronic infections - but this is still the main type of test we have available - so its just really hard to get a black and white answer
so we tend to instead have to interpret both the results and symptoms and history to reason through what is the most likely
many LLMD's tend to diagnose based on symptoms and history also - for the same reason
that said positive test results from more than one method for Chlamydia and a symptoms picture fitting chlamydia is worth pursuing.
others are less clear - as for example - you have both positive and negative tests for say EBV - and we know EBV also cross reacts with Lyme ( which has one positive result ) so that could be a false positive for EBV ( or Lyme)
a v low CD 57+ cell count is also associated with chronic lyme - mine was a similar number ( but unfortunately its not super specific - other chronic illnesses can cause low CD57+ also - lyme is just one of them)
another possible reason to suspect Lyme is that most people are able to recover from chlamydia infections on their own - so if you are not - it might point to something (like Lyme) that is inhibiting your immune system and stopping it clearing the Cpn.
there was a website written by an oxford professor about
chronic Cpn and his wife's treatment and recovery with combination abx - but i cant seem to find it / might be down
this site might be the same one taken over by patient advocates - so could provide some useful info
