hi LitleBee
there is a lot of overlap of symptoms - more than one infection can cause pretty much all symptoms - and any individual patients symptoms can be caused by more than one infection - so its more a case that there are general patterns of symptoms that when taken as a whole, are associated with some infections more than with others - but its often a pretty subtle thing and something that is often oversimplified on the internet to a kind of cartoon version of the real world.
bartonella is typically associated with the following symptoms a little more than other infections
-neurologic pain and pain syndromes - not explained by other causes
-mood issues - psychiatric problems - mental health issues
-anger, rage and excitotoxity in the brain
-probably MCAS other super sensitivities
-linear skin rashes (striae)
other infections can cause all or most of these symptoms - so its more the case that there can be a kind of general leaning in the pattern of symptoms in bartonella patients - than any single symptom being definitive diagnostic on its own
it means that its very hard to say whether in your particular case a single symptom of this or that is indicative of bartonella infection
the linear rashes are about
the most definitive thing - in the case of bartonella - but only a subset of patients have them
if the pain in your foot is minor and transient - i would try not to worry about
it and tend to focus on the other bigger things more
this chart illustrates common symptoms patterns associated with Bartonella, Babesia and Borrelia infections - and is a reputable source - a zoonotic disease patient advocacy and education organisation called Invisible international
