I have already shared it in phoenix rising, but I wanted to inform you guys aswell that as it seems my Citalopram intake alleviates my orthostatic intolerance, besides mood improvements.
So what is broadly known, is that Citalopram is a Selective Serotonine Reuptake Inhibitors, and by thus increasing Serotonine concentration. Serotonine is mostly known for effects on mood, but it can do more than that. Apparantly serotonine has numerous functions in the body such as regulation of body temperature, blood pressure and partially even immunomodulatory.
But there might be even more too it. According to a group of small studies, Citalopram may do the following:
- Reduce overexpression of IL-2 and IL-4 in T-Cells
- Promote Function of Dedritic Cells
- Promote Function of NK Cells.
Here is the study that shows promissing reduction of IL-2 and IL-4 expression.
