The title kind of speaks for itself here... Bartonella can cause someone's herpes to gain traction against the immune system.

Hey Rainy - good to hear from you - hope you are doing OK
yep - i think its likely that bartonella - since it has to suppress the hosts immune system in order to survive in the blood for any period of time - likely makes the host more susceptible to many other infections.
we know bartonella is immune suppressive - or immune dysregulating is perhaps a better term ( as some parts of the immune system can go haywire - with things like MCAS or MCAS like reactions often seen in bartonella patients - while at the same time overall immunity to new infections can be suppressed ) because normally in infections in the blood are characterised by extremely high fevers - malaria or sepsis for instance - but these are uncommon in chronic bartonella infections ( fevers do happen in acute infections).

Hi Garzie,
Good to hear from you too. I hope you're doing well!
Yes, it's interesting. I specifically found the underlying message that applies to other infections and symptoms besides herpes to be interesting. Which you pointed out: that basically all bets are off once the immune system is dysregulated.
