Recently I met someone really fun and smart. We were planning on meeting but now she disclosed she has latent tuberculosis. Now I'm not sure what to do. Even though studies claim that latent TB isn't contagious. Do I really wanna risk it with my broken immune system?
I don't know. The idea of meeting her scares me now. ![sad](/community/emoticons/sad.gif)
I also read that latent TB is not contagious.
I would think there are a lot of people that don’t disclose they have that.
Google:
“ Tuberculosis (TB) germs can live in the body for years without making you sick. This is called inactive TB or latent TB infection.
People with inactive TB do not feel sick, do not have symptoms, and cannot spread TB germs to others.
Without treatment, inactive TB can develop into active TB disease at any time and make you sick”
