Are you willing and able to share the name of the learning institution through which you're pursuing your Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach?
Also, do you have a list of topics you cover and your orientation on those topics? For example, I'm curious about how you approach diet, supplements, and other subjects, as well as your recommendations for each.
Thanks and congratulations on earning your "In Training" certification.
Thank you Dude!
Sure - Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
At the moment I do not have a "set list". I would be curious the specific interests behind each participant and we could definitely set course for a direction that resonates the most amongst everyone. I will say a core focus we work from is the idea of "Primary and Secondary food". Primary food being looking at wellness in a multi-dimensional way - think Health, Physical activity, Home Cooking / Home Environment, Relationships, Social Life, Joy, Spirituality, Creativity, Finances, Career and Education. Secondary food being more about
actual objective nutrition, while still working from a bio-individual approach - what works for you might not work for me, and might partially work for the next person etc..
A large reason why I was drawn the the idea of Health Coaching was that I feel there's a large gap in alternative care amongst communities like ours. From learning about
and finding alternative care, to say working with a functional medicine doc who one sees every 6-8-12 weeks but doesn't get a lot of "continual" support, and the difficulty of finding a chronic illness informed therapist who still often doesn't understand the feelings one may experience around the difficulties of treatment and how to better navigate those. Which is essentially where I'd like to come in.. To make all of that process a bit easier, helping another with the tools to better navigate their own journey.
Hope this answers that for you!
