First off I just want to start by saying I can't find anything about migraines and Amlodipine on this forum or on Reddit's forum. I wonder why that is? Maybe because sick people don't tend to post on forums?
I just started amlodipine for other reasons and it's going to take a few weeks to tell if it it's the winner, but I saw my neuro today and asked her if she every prescribes it and she said "it's the first med I prescribe and it's the best med." She said over 50% of patients never need another med after going on it.
The reviews on drugs.com are 9/10 and the only bad reviews are people who discontinued due to ankle swelling, etc.
My doc said it's a cheap generic drug so it doesn't get much publicity and studies but that in the headache community doctors know it's one of the best medications there is.
Sounds pretty amazing based on her patient experiences, online reviews and the medical journal case studies that are online.
Has anyone here tried it? She said it takes up to 12 weeks to fully kick in.
