anti myelin blood test came back

Hey guys

I got blood tests back yesterday and my neurologist showed me I had high anti myelin antibodies, they were 2 on a scale were normal was 0.1-1.4.

He said ms patients has high anti myelin.

I had crohns all my life and not looking forward to have ms on top of that.

Is this a marker for MS? Does it have to lead to MS?

I have never heard of this test. There is no one test for diagnosing MS. Typically neurologist will look at brain and spine MRI, a thorough neurological test of reflexes and responses, blood work to rule out other possible causes, lumbar puncture and evoked potentials.

Test is just a test. Don't get too worked up over it. For example, my RF is higher then it should be. Does it mean I have Rheumatoid Arthritis? Absolutely not. What does your Neurologist typically see as a result of the same test in patients with definite MS and are you exhibiting any clinical symptoms?
