I would see a naturopath or a functional medicine MD, any MD who might believe in perhaps testing the levels of mercury and heavy metals in your body since you describe exposure. A lot of metal toxicity symptoms can mimic MS. One can imagine that metals bearing charges (mercury, aluminum) could theoretically interfere with the transmission of electric signals through nerves. There are Chelation therapies but they are controversial and not 100% safe (as with any treatment, "mainstream" medical treatments included)... DO NOT attempt any such detox on your own as it could be an unpleasant to life threatening experience.

I have discussed the same with an MD and a naturopath I have seen... MD believed I couldn't possibly be exposed to enough metals although my symptoms started 3 years ago shortly after I received 3 vaccinations in one day (2 containing a lot of aluminum and MSG) after coming off of a flu-type illness. A few days later I was struck with restlessness and horrible anxiety and ambiguous and moving target sort symptoms periodically in varying severity during the 3 years after. Currently having a flare of symptoms people can't figure out, just push anxiety meds on me and send me home. Possibly having another MRI (had one three years ago) that did not show lesions but I have not yet been tested for metal toxicity. It also may not be toxicity but some people are genetically inclined to have difficulty eliminating metal wastes and they too, according to sources, can accumulate in the body.

So we'll see. The metal tests and elimination pathway testing is expensive but I'm at my wits end to the point that I would do anything just to know what I'm dealing with. Not too sure that an MRI will show anything for me... though the symptoms are driving me nuts.
