Hi Everyone,
My mom was diagnosed with MS 22 years ago. Over the past couple of years her symptoms have worsened and she is having a hard time getting around. She was recently put on a low does steriod pack for 5 days for an infection on her foot. The same day she started the first dose of medicine her symptoms seemed to almost completely go away! For the 5 days she was able to walk unasisted, stand with her legs locked (usually when she tries to stand her legs are bent & won't completely straightened) and even climb in my dad's truck without help! Once her dose pack was over, the symptoms came back full force. She was so happy for that week and couldn't believe the difference the medicine made in such a short period of time. Is there anyone on here who has been diagnosed with MS and currently taking low dose steriods to manage their symptoms? She is seeing a new neurologist this week and going to discuss the option with him. I know there are side effects with long-term steriod treatment, but the difference it made for that week was unbelievable. Thanks for your time.
Kim
