Bidet seat or Shattaf?

I am looking into a shattaf, it's a toilet attachment used by Moslems and very simply a hose with a spray handle kind of like this:

Has anyone had any experience here? It is much, much more reasonable in price than a bidet seat

No experience, but it looks like it would work. Seems like it might be easier to spray water where you don't want it w/this (happens w/the bidet seats too, though). Definitely a lot cheaper.

Well maybe with a little practise, a person could get the water to go where needed :-)

I just looked all over my toilet, though, and don't see anything it could connect to.

I have a bidet seat and I really love it but this looks like it would be a cheaper substitute. One reason I really like mine is that it sprays warm water, which it doesn't look like this one does because it doesn't use an outlet. But this looks like it will get the job done. I think the hose connects to the area where the metal knob is that you use to turn the water on and off. I saw it uses a T adaptor which splits the water, which is just like the bidet seat attachment. Probably easy to hook up. Good luck!

I could never have that because I have two little boys. I could just imagine what they could do to my bathroom with a few minutes alone with that thing!

Ha ha, I can imagine too and it is making me laugh. Exploring the bathrrom was soooooooooooo cool when I was 4. I found tampons and opened every single one, thinking they were some kind of firecrackers and needed to be thrown around the bathrrom, then the scouring powder after that, etc. If I'd only had the hose, I'd have made a really cool pasty mess.

But I have no kids and I'm grown up now so I supress such ideas.

I still can't figure out where I'm supposed to attach the thing because there is absolutely nothing on my toilet.

NOpe, not on the inside, but maybe it could be inside the tank? That would make things very difficult for having any kind of bidet arrangement.

No idea. Seems to happen internally, inside the tank.

Looking at the picture it looks exactly like the setup for a bidet seat, which has its own water tank inside it. The water still comes from the same spot the toilet water comes from. Looks like there is a simple wall mount for the sprayer. Once it arrives it will all make sense.
