Next weekend is my last weekend with a stoma and before takedown, which will happen on Monday but I don't know what time. Do I have to stop eating at some point, like Saturday night? I want to eat "all I can eat" sushi on Sunday, or do they want me on liquids the day before?

I believe if I remember correctly that the orders were nothing to eat or drink after 10pm the night before surgery. I'm pretty sure I ate dinner that night. But they will give you your instructions the day before. Some hospitals have different instructions on this.

Nothing after 10 pm is easy. It is probably important that there is nothing in the intestines at teh time of take down because then it will go straight out the jpouch too early.

I'm slightly jealous of you, lol. I see my doctor this Wednesday for a checkup and to schedule my takedown (I'm aiming for April 19 or 20 right after tax season is over).

But yea, no eating after 10pm is easy. I was thinking it would be nothing after 5pm or so.

I'll see what they tell me on Thursday.

I also have to get an EKG and another interview with the anesthesiologist, because I had the post-operative delerium after the last OP.

Main thing is, I can go out for sushi Sunday night!
