Hello Everyone, I have been away for a while and would like to update what's been going on, on Sept 15th,2008; I had my 6th ventral hernia/colon repairs, this time the surgeonts used Mesh.  Question?  Am I suppose to still be sore? is my stoma and the surrounded area suppose to be tender to the touch including the stoma? I sure could use some advice.  Also I had develop kidney stones, still passing them, very painful.

If the abdomen is sore when you touch it, similar to a bruise pain, that is from all of the internal work they did and from inflating your belly. I had my colon removed through a 10 inch incision through my belly. For the first 2 weeks, I had pain at the incision site, then for the next 6 weeks I had that mild abdominal pain you were mentioning, like similar to touching a bruise. The stoma may itch and be sore for a while as well, until everything around it heals.

On 29th Aug I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer for the fourth time.
The new tumour is situated at the top of my vagina, measures 5x5x4.5cm & is bleeding.
History.
Nov 2007 - right hemicolectomy, en bloc hysterectomy & partial cystectomy for a T4 NO moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma.
Feb 2010 - laparotomy and ultra low anterior resection with formation of end colostomy & excision of abdominal wall metastasis.
Nov 2011 - exploratory laparotomy, ileocolic resection for lymph nodal mesenteric metastasis & repair of parastomal hernia.
Aug 2012 - new presecral local recurrence with no further metastasis on PET scan.
Am now following a strictly vegan & natural nutritional plan with lots of water. Exercising (walking in the outdoors), hydrotherapy restful, adequate, profitable sleep. My faith in God & the knowledge that He has healed me is very important. & I give thanks & praises ALL the time.

Sedona, that sounds like a painful combination. I had hernia surgery the Friday before Thanksgiving and I'm still fairly sore but it seems like you should be doing a lot better if you had your surgery back in September. I would call the surgeon's office and talk to a nurse. I also had my original colon scar excised at the same time because I had keloid scarring which made it raised and really wide so I don't know if that's why my stomach is still really tender or if it's from the mesh.
