Who was taking the vitamin for hair loss?

I remember seeing a post a while back but can't remember who posted it.

Wondering what it is and if its working, I don't know if its the Humira or still from my surgery but I am losing my hair.....a lot.....and I am starting to freak out.

Yup. Mine grew back too. Be patient. Use good shampoo and conditioner products, especially if the hair gets terribly dried-out.

I have the same problem. It was suggested to me to take certain vitamins.
B, Biotin, Selenium, and E.
I started taking the vitamins maybe 3 weeks ago. I'm still shedding but it seems to have slowed down slightly.


I have also upped my protein. Hair is made from protein and we need to protein to heal from our surgeries. So, even tho I upped the protein for healing, I upped it again for hair growth.

I read several articles that said one reason prenatals make your hair grow was the folic acid. So I made sure I got OJ every morning. It makes my output more ucky than usual but I need it anyway after not drinking all night when I was asleep. (it has the missing potassium I need after sleeping and not drinking for the last several hours too)

I also use Nioxin products on my hair.
Yes it works.
It doesn't stop what was falling out simply because your hair already decided that. But the things I'm doing seem to speed up the growth.

see a dermatologist. when you have a traumatic event in your life, your body shuts down non essential things like hair growth and puts all its efforts towards the event. the hair is actually the first one to shut down. two months later as the new hair is growing the older hair starts breaking off. a dermatologist told us this when my wife started losing hair 2 months after a 3 day stay in the hospital with pnuemonia. her hair eventually stopped falling out by itself. the doctor said she could try minoxydil for men if she wanted. she didn't.

I had a lot of trauma happen to me in Auugust this year and it resulted in an emergency ostomy bag. My hair was falling out in HUGE clumps. I had hair loss from 3 different events that all happened in the same month basically. Delivered my son 10 wks early on July 30th, was in the hospital all week due to issues resulting from a hole in my colon but they didn't figure that part out yet. Instead I was getting all these tests run - ct scan, abdominal ultrasound, chest X-rays...went home that Friday with them not knowing what was going on. I came back the next Monday still in pain and that's when I had the surgery. Was at the hospital again for a week. Finally went home on the next Monday... But 4 days later back at the hospital due to a high fever, that's when they found the 2 abcess in my abdomen. Meanwhile baby still in hospital nicu. Sent home with a picc line for antibiotics.

Finally my reversal was this past Friday. I've been told that this may help my hair grow back quicker in itself. I have also been taking niacin, multi and/or prenatal vitamin, hair skin and nails vitamin, and calcium+vitd supplement. Also washing my hair with nioxin shampoo/conditioner and all of this seems to be helping a little. Still losing hair but not as much!
