Stoma Reversal Question

I was just curious about something, when they reverse my stoma, does a "prep" get done the day before like a colonoscopy to clean out my small intestine? I'm just trying to imagine the surgeon reconnecting me and if the stoma would still shoot anything out.

I'll probably do the same, after my first surgery went south, the least amount of bacteria for me the better
