Durable reusable ostomy systems

Let's imagine that I wanted to go on a trip for a couple months and didn't want to have to lug around months of supplies with me in my backpack. Are there decent long-term reusable systems?

Unfortunately I don't think there are. I disagree completely with Tom about this - I wish there was and I wish one of the ostomy manufacturers would design such a system. It would not only be more environmentally friendly, it would also be a reassuring backup for the future in case - for whatever reason - you run out of supplies, can't afford them anymore, or whatever.

The closest I can think of are old rubber bags, which were probably pretty uncomfortable to wear, prone to leaks and odorous. But they were re-usable. Then science moved on and plastic disposable bags became the thing.
