Help.... Advise needed ASAP

I have got my j-pouch surgery in 2 days. The only problem being that I was diagnosed with a chest infection 1 week ago. I was given antibiotics which finished last night, only I don't think the infection has cleared as I am still coughing all the time, I'm full of mucus which I keep coughing up and blowing my nose to get rid of and I still have a slight weaze in my breathing. I am booked in to go back to the GP this afternoon but I am stressing out thinking that the surgeon will say to me on Wednesday that they can't complete the surgery with my chest the way it is and then I will be sent home and have another long wait for a new surgery date...

Can anyone give me some quick solutions to get rid of this chest infection so that I can go ahead with my surgery.....

I'm with bluegrass on this one! You do not want to have surgery when you are having respiratory problems and I'm speaking from experience!
Two years ago, in jan., I had bronchitis and pneumonia. At the end of feb., I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy, which they consider a quick surgery, and it was day surgery, and I really paid for it afterward. I would advise you to have surgery so close to being an antibiotics... With the coughing and mucus problem, I'd say you're not really over it.

You do not want to be coughing after abdominal surgery. Trust me on this one. I had coughing fits after all of my surgeries and it's a pain I would not wish on anyone. Let your doctor decide.
