I am wondering. Does anyone else have issues with their stoma popping in and out frequently? My son's does all the time. Sometimes it sticks out then other times it is flat. It was always flat until about 6 months ago. It does this all day, everyday. His doctor said that's normal but I'm curious if anyone has the same issue. He doesn't use appliances for colostomy. He uses a catheter for an enema.

stoma's do generally move. Our intestines move using peristaltis, it's the wave like movements that push food through our intestines. When I had my colostomy and ileostomy, mine would move in and out. Sometimes it would be flat and the next about an inch out.

Ok. Thank you. That's the sam thing the spring nurse said when I finally got in touch with her. I was curious about others, though. His has been changing a lot as he's older so it's been a little scary. What about clear, liquid discharge? Not mucous, but clear liquid. Just a little and not often.
