Noisy loop ileostomy

Hi everyone,

I had step 2 j-pouch surgery (creation of j-pouch and loop ileostomy) 12 days ago. After having a very good end ileostomy for over a year, I'm a bit concerned about the noise my new ileostomy is making. My end rarely made any noise, except in the morning after breakfast. This one on the other hand is completely unpredictable and makes a lot of gurgling sounds throughout the day. And it's so loud!

In your experience, does it get better with time? I know it's still very early, but I'm worried about going back to work like this.

I, too, was worried about noise as I meet with students throughout the day and didn't want it to be loud. I have a sound machine at work that I turn on. Would this be possible for you? It does get better!
