I'm back, inquiry

Update on it all.  Sis took pa to that doc in South Florida that does more natural remedies.  Pa was doing really good.  He cut his simenet to 4 x a day instead of 5.  dose is 25/100.  He then also prescribed artane 2 x a day. 

Then we went to Shands regarding deep brain stimulation.  Due to his age docs don't want to try it as of now.  Doc wants to do away with the Artane and increase simenet to 6 times a day at a dose of 2 &1/2. 

Pa seems to have taken 12 steps back.  Though it's only been a week so he isn't up to the prescribed dose.  I am personally somewhat concerned of such a high dose of simenet but leaving it to pa and the doc.  Trying not to interfere but did tell pa that we should probably email doc at Shands and let him know.  Pa said he wants to give it time so going with it.  It has only been a week.  I'm trying not to interfere.

Wondering if anyone has been on such a high dose of simenet and for how long? 

I don't know what happened.  He seemed to be doing so well with the other route.  I think something a doc said may have contributed to some anxiety again. 

 

JP5, I probably see the same specialist at Shands and in my experience he knows his stuff.  He will always answer an email and if you send one in the middle of the night don't be surprised if he answers immediately.  He is definitely willing to listen to patient's opinions about medications so if you feel that the dosage is too high or too frequent you should let him know.  If you have any qustions about the DBS surgery I've had that done and I will be glad to try and answer any questions.
