Many of you know I have wonderful friends in Alabama.  And many of you know the War Eagle and I are loving friends! 

Walt has received some disturbing news and I just wanted to spread the word.  He updated his blog today and I'll link it below and let you read it in his words.  I know him well, and I know he will be grateful for wells wishes, warm thoughts, and prayers for him and his wonderful wife Johnnie.  Walt came to us here in 2007 and brought such a beautiful warm personality.  He has cheered many of us up with his humor and faithfulness.  I haven't spoke to him today, but I probably will.  Ruth and I have had the blessings to meet him and Johnnie and stay in their home for a few days.  A beautiful home, a beautiful wife, and beautiful heart, and mostly a beautiful man....

Gee Tony, what a difference even a week made in his life. Sorry to read of it, but sounds like another brother deep in faith and moving ahead despite it all. That's encouraging to all the rest of us.

Greetings, Walt and Johnnie.  We will continue to pray for you as you make important decisions.  I know you are making one good one and that is celebrating 30 years of marriage.  We just celebrated our 35th with a trip to Alaska that I planned while sitting in my recliner tied to a catheter post surgery.  I know that many of us are grateful for wives who play a huge part in our recoveries.  Hang in there. You have and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. You are always so generous with your well wishes and prayers for others. You continue to be such an inspiration and friend. I will be thinking of you and Johnnie during this time and wishing you peace and strength to make the tough decisions. I will also be holding on to hope for you that more treatment options are just around the corner. All the best to you and of course...WAR EAGLE!
