Friends,

My psa was less than 0.1 last  friday, 3 months after my DaVinci

surgery.I intended to give myself a break from the forum but i keep coming back to read all of your updates and now I thought of a question.Has anyone ever got initial post op psa reading this good and have it rise as time passed? Thanks, Wes

Yes unfortunely my PSA was <0.1 for 9 months then all of a sudden it started to go up and is now at 14 months 0.3 and not sure what I am looking at this week when I get the results of my next PSA.  There are no guarantees with this monster we need to take it one day at a time and enjoy those zero's when we can and hope they last forever.

My 3 months was 01. and at 6 months it has jumped to .4 and now .5. So I am looking at further treatment such as IMRT. But you know, we can worry ourself sick about psa' if we allow it. So focus on your great score and as Jerry said take it one day or one psa at a time and live life fully.

Yes, more than a few of us in that situation. My only good post surgery PSA was the first one at 3 months out, then they rose each time after that. But quite a few men here, start out zero and are still at zero.

My husband's PSA was 0.1 four weeks after surgery. Four weeks later, it hit less than 0.1 - undetectable. It stayed there for 17 months, then rose to 0.1, then 0.3 one month later. The third PSA test - which would have be the clincher to start salvage radiation - went back down to undetectable. Go figure.

Waiting for the results of his PSA test as I type this message.

My PSA came back as <.04 for over one year after my open RRP. Then it started to creep up and when it reached 0.1 (about 2 years after the RRP) I had SRT. 6 month after the SRT my PSA is down again to <0.04. Next PSA test is in Jan 10.

Mag, getting my first post SRT PSA drawn next Monday, this will be my new baseline. Not as worried about this one, as the one that follows in 3 months. I never had 2 zero in a row right from the start.

Some of the pain associated with my SRT is going away slowly, better now than when it ended 2 1/2 weeks ago. Hope it keeps improving.
The antibiotics seem to be helping with the UTI the SP cath caused, so spasms still there, but not as painful either, which is a big relief.

The catheter is still a full time annoyance, today is day 76 on this setup. Mid-January to late-January is my best hope at this point about being catheter free, so still have a ways to go on that. Despite me griping about it, will say, it beats the pain and terror of having blockages and retentions.

what is IMRT and how do you receive treatments. is it on weekly basis for a certain period of time? is it best option once you have had surgery and the PSA starts creeping back up again...

It is a method of radiation and it would likely be best if you type that into a search engine and you can get a ton of info. It does help localize the radiation to a certain spot, but there is a lot more to it than that. Good luck with you search as I will be starting it soon.

Hi Wes it is almost five years after surgery my psa=0.04,and I pray it stay like that for many more years.scool
