Hey Tallguy and Hero
I can reply to both of your comments with one explanation.
I do my own version of urodynamics testing every few days. I drink an extra 12 oz mug of green tea and then sit down and either do work or read HW for a while. After about
an hour, I get that "I have to pee feeling" but resist the urge for an extra 1/2 hour if I can stand it. Then I run outside, stand at the edge of the patio, whip my underpants to the side and let fly onto the marked area in the so aptly-named pea gravel my wife lovingly placed in the garden. By using basic hydraulics theory I then calculate the pressure based upon penis height above ground and the distance the pee flies. I have an excel spreadsheet set up with my height already entered so all I need to do is enter the distance and it tells me the exit pressure. With my substantial flow I assume the pressure drop is minimal. I have watched my pressure increase from 2" H20 (0.5 kPa) to 10" H2O (2.5 kPa)during the first 4 months post RP. It has leveled off at 10-11 " about
the same as when I was 15 years old if I remember correctly.
I measure bladder capacity just like everyone else: by peeing into an empty 8 oz Kraft Parmesan Cheese container and weighing it.
I'm sure Dr. Mayer might have gotten a laugh out of my data, but he certainly couldn't argue with it. (And he certainly wasn't going to charge me for his testing. It would undoubtedly show the same results and he knows I would post the results here. Soon everyone on this site would be buying pea gravel at Lowe's and that would be the end of the Urodynamics testing world as they know it. The whole medical system would fall apart.)
He did say 200ml/day is near the limit where a sling will help.
Surprisingly over the past two days, my flow has dropped to the 175 ml / day range. That brings me to within striking distance of 1 very, very, very full pad per day.
Is my bladder sphincter scared?
Jeff
