Hi guys im margret bedammed partner ,hes in hospital tonite to have surgery in morning, not sure who the most scared ,life bout to change feel i can handle it but unsure as to how he will react to it,big decision to have testicles removed

wanted to stay there longer but as usual u got to go by ten pm,not sure if either of us get any sleep tonite,not even sure wat to expect afta the op,any body know the answer to that

Im hopeing this be the start of road to recovery for him and us as it does take it toll emotionally

Hi Margaret...to me seems odd there's a scan planned AFTER the surgery and testicles might be removed? With the numbers you've provided, Gleason 4+4=8 and a PSA of 12, while a tad high aren't all that remarkable. If his doctor was concerned about spreading seems a CT and bone scan would have been performed prior to surgery.



74 years old - 106 gram prostate - rising PSA over the years ending @ 6.7 12/23/09. Biopsy found 2 of 12 cores positive Gleason 3+4=7 Margins and other tissues clear. DiVinci 2/10/10 @ Henry Ford / Dr. Peabody. First PSA undetectable with the six month due 7/7/10. No pads with a few dribbles for the past couple of months.

Margaret, I cannot give any advice on bedarned's surgery but hope that all goes well for him and for you. Yes, your lives are about to change but not necessarily for the worst. Hope you come back and let us know how everything went. Please tell BD that we're all thinking of him, and wish him the very best.

I wish both of you well. He is a lucky man to have your support.
There are many wives here who are willing to jump in and help if you have questions.
You are both starting a new adventure today.

Hi Margret,

Good luck to Scott on his surgery-hope all goes well. When he's feeling up to it, maybe he could update his profile-if I'm not mistaken he had his scans a while back. As Sephie said, we're thinking of him and wish him and you all the best.

Good luck to both you, and your husband. Will be glad when he is back on the recovery side. I know this is hard on both of you.

Good luck to both of you, waiting for some updates when he is done and you have time. In the meantime, take care of yourself, so you can be strong to help him. when he needs it.
