Hi all not posted on here much lately but I do look in often I had my blood taken today for my 6 monthly PSA test and I was pleased to hear that it dropped 0.01 to 0.07 I know that it is not a big decrease but it stopped the up ward trend which I was dreading might happen

On the issue of pre PSA stress when they took my blood pressure a few minutes before going into see the doctor it was 185 over 90 so how stressed was I

Now that is stress to post that high on blood pressures, what is your normal readings? That is enough stress to be worrried about the effects of high blood pressure. Gotta like a downward psa post surgery, a couple more of those should help relieve P.I.S.S. syndrome.

I always seem to have high blood pressure when I go to hospital I did make them wait for a few minutes and they took it again and it was down to 145 over 85 but at home I am in the 115 to 125 over 80 range Yes the first PSA I had was 0.06 so I am hoping that it stays in that range

Colin -- it's early for me. are you saying your psa went from .06 to .07?

Sorry Ed I did not realise that my profile has been removed my first PSA was 0.06 my second was 0.08 and todays was 0.07 and I have them at 6 monthly intervals

Way to go.  Sounds like you have white coat syndrome.  See a white coat, and up goes your BP.

Let's keep those PSA's below .1 forever.

Good for you Colin on the numbers...I get the white coat BP rise sometimes, too. Not as often as I used to.

Keep those numbers low!

Hey Colin, that's great news so good for you. On the BP note that actually has a name. As the other fellas have said it is called "white coat syndrome". It is not uncommon for the blood pressure to rise when visiting a doctor even though you may not feel apprehensive.

Congrats! Keep that spare bedroom open!
If you ever need to get away from the heat and the white coats, my place is open. (In 6 weeks it will be all white with snow.
