Does anybody else do this? Every time I tell someone about my surgery I have a tendency to lift my shirt to show my surgery scars(?). Wife and I went to our neighborhood Sushie place and there I was pulling my shirt up to show our waitress my stomach,which she thought was pretty cool and started counting my scars.

Week four after surgery some friends invited us to their lake house for the day. Their 8 and 10 year old granddaughters were there that day and when I jumped in the lake with out a shirt on they saw my scars and thought I had been in a slasher movie or something so I do not show off anymore. smhair

I'm not a flasher but I'm sure some people think I'm some kind of a pick up artist since I spend so much time at the urinal. Since the sling operation I need to spend 2 and 1/2 minutes each time. That is forever when people are waiting. And I'm sure the draining of the urethra operation can get you arrested as a sex offender in at least 14 states. turn

By the way, my wife has decided that the "humor gland" is not located in the prostate. However, it is clear the "modesty gland" is.

I resisted the temptation to lift uop my shirt yesterday when visiting a friend when the subject arose, even though in have just added another scar this week after having a mole removed from my chest. (Six stiches so not a small scar.
I am though glad that sometimes you can forget about the scars. The wind blew up my shirt a few weeks back when I was laying some paving and the neighbor's son who was watching suddenly said "What's that on your stomach?" and it took me a second to realise what he was talking about.

I am occasionally tempted to have fun with a spot of "you show me yours and I'll show you mine!" but I'd like to stay happily married.

Am considering an implant for ED. Really hope no one wants to see my scar, or a demo.

Hi Alf,

I take it you have a scar in the north -south direction, mine is east to west and quite low down, so If I showed mine I'm sure I'd be quickly arrested! smilewinkgrin

I was at the beach wearing a shirt. But for some reason my teenage daughter thought my shirt was the height of embarrassment. So I thought, what the heck, I wouldn't normally wear a shirt here, so I'll take it off. Surprised to find that no one said anything, no one seemed to be staring.

....I just lifted my shirt to do a quick check. Yep, they're still there. Though not as noticeable as in the first couple months.

I think that wins the best post title of the year.

Right after my Da Vinci adventure, a couple of co-workers (one male, one female) stopped by the house when I was convalescing and I raised my shirt without a warning. It was quite a surprise, I guess. The male co-worker still talks about it.

Anyway, my scars aren't very noticeable anymore, but my navel looks a little odd, because I had a hernia fixed there a couple of years ago and then lost 40 lbs. It's now kind of a deflated downward little mouth. So it goes.

I wouldn't say I have become a "flasher" but having had quadruple bypass surgery and prostate surgery, showing what needs to be shown to medical people has become just about a non-event to me. I figure the DRE and prostate biopsy and what has been exposed in the operating rooms while under anesthesia in two surgeries probably has uncovered all there is. Then the follow-ups after surgery to check the scars. Then before surgery you have those haircuts you won't get in a barber shop........... smilewinkgrin

Just remember guys that chicks dig scars! Make us look all tough and what not!
Between RRP & hernia scars, kinda looks like a road map.

At four years post DaVinci, the only scar that can be seen without very, very close examination is the one at the navel, and even that one doesn't jump out. I've shown it to a few folks that asked about DaVinci, and I take my shirt off at the pool & beach without care. I've got bigger scars from other stuff.
