Last night my Grandfather passed away. He was 92. He was diagnosed with P.Ca. 25 or more years ago. He chose watchful waiting, then radiation then lupron. He ultimately passed from lymphoma due to the radiation that kept his prostate cancer at bay. He had a good life and he is now with gramma and no longer in pain. If I know my grandparents my grandmother is probably already asking him what took him so long and he is asking her what is for dinner. They were married 62 years. Grampa swore that after she passed that she never left his side. I love you grampa. God Speed. Your grandson Todd

So very sorry to hear the news, Todd, of the passing of your beloved Grandfather. He did indeed live to a ripe age, despite his cancer. May he be at peace now, united again with your Grandmother. Peace be to your heart as well.

Thank you David. When I was a boy my grampa was my hero. We made fishing lures together and he was there when I caught my first fish. He had a swimming pool and lived right next door so I lived there the entire summer. He was there when I shot my first buck he was there to give me a congratulatory snort of whisky when I bagged my first bull elk. He gave me my first chew of snuff. (probably not his finest hour) and he never judged me even when I messed my life up as bad as I did. He loved even when he was hurt by the choices I made that cost me so dearly. I am happy both he and gramma lived long enough for me to make them proud of the man I became. Todd

Grampa was a fighter Dave thats for sure. He was a drill sargent during w.w.II and he was tough as nails. He was also the kindest most patient man I ever knew

todd, i missed out in life on the grandfather experience. on my mother's side, my grandfather died when I was 6 months old. i have a single picture of him holding me as a baby when we were still living in england. on my father's side, i only saw his father alive once in oklahoma, when i was about 6. the next time i saw him, was at his funeral when i was about 25. i often wonder, and even envy for those with close family ties like you speak about. i can only imagine your mind being flooded with great memories that will live on for you.

I am sorry David. Yes the memories are vast, but with the memories come the overwhelming sense of loss. I will grieve and I will remember.

Todd, very sorry to here about your grandfathers passing. He sounded like a wonderful man. My grandfather also died of PCa at 90. He was the salt of the earth and I miss him dearly. My sincere condolences. BB

Your GrandFather left a rich legacy in you and I'm sure all others that he touched in his 92 years. if all of us could make that much of an impact the world would be a much better place.
Now he is with his lady.

My condolences to your family as well. My grandfather was also my hero and he had PC diagnosed when he was 69. He was treated with HT back in the 60's because he had heart disease which took him way before the PC had a chance to spread. I am fortunate that he didn't pass to me the heart disease but because of his PC I monitored my PSA and had yearly screenings way before I would have otherwise which probably saved my life.

Todd, I also wish offer condolences to you and the family. He sounds like the grandpa every one wishes they had. I am sure you will be remembering all the good times and lessons he taught for some time now.

sorry to hear about your grampa. I have a picture of my grandpa on my dresser, taken when I was about 6 yrs old. he's been gone a long time and I still think of him all the time. You are blessed to have had him in your life, as I was with mine.

What a great tribute to your Grampa. Nothing like the unconditional love of a Grand Parent. You are a lucky man to have had him in your life for such a very long time..
