Thought I would share this article I Just read about online. Its A new device for men suffering ED or rehabilitation after a prostatectomy.

Article says the device will be available in the US after August 15. Price is $300

interesting concept, i read something a year ago about the concept used with this device and thought that it had potential. Wonder how long till insurance will cover it???

Interesting. Who wants to be the first kid on the block to try it?

If I had $300 I'd give it a buzz....

It would probably have to work real well to get insurance to pay.

Not that I'm a expert on what adult stores have on their shelves, but I think that they already have vibrator-based male musturbation aids, and probably a lot cheaper than $300.

Has anyone tried one?

jack up the price and call it a medical treatment? Hmmm, Worried guy, you listening to this, I see a pair of ice tongs with maybe a router motor and some rubber toy arrow suction cup tips, or heck, maybe a weed eater motor for those of us who are trying to be off the grid.

Ron, I think you beat Jeff to the punch on this one!.. If you get the prototype done before Roger and I head to Jeff's GFMPH in Sept let me know I will bring it for Jeff to do a demonstration.

I am way ahead of you on this one. I've already got my vibrator/massager from Walmart. Bot it wayyy back 2 years ago when I thought maybe some vibratory stimulation might help. I think the vibration rate is about right on one or the two settings too.

It has since sat under the bed collecting dust. I had never thought about vibrating from TWO sides at once. I can see how they do it in the Viberect. Just need to come up with a way to attach something to the actual vibrating head.

Will get a picture up here or on FrankTalk when i git er done ....

(I am sure there will be dozens of knock off models out soon -- even if there's a patent on the design).

Before we get to mechanical, why don't we consider the use of Tens unit? I know that the use of it on my shoulder really triggered some stange and intense sensations in the whole area. I can imagine what it would do for the penis, well maybe I can't... devil Seems I remember Worried Guy has already tried this, maybe? Where is he when the good discussions get going, anyway? Always away making money I suppose.

I would really be interested trying this and may talk to my doctor about it. I will wait for a while and see if any independent reviews show up on it. I am 22 months out of open RP surgery and levitra is working very well for me. However anything I can do to improve and possibly be able to go without ED drugs I am willing to try. $300 is alot of money but if it works it would be worth it to me.

This was discussed extensively (74 emails)on the protatepointers mailing list [PCAI] in late July/early August where the Urologist Kambiz Tajkarimi replied to questions and explained their device in 12 of his own emails.   He referred to being a surgeon and doing 150 robotic RPs a year so he no doubt has a few ED patients. From the mails I could tell he was not afraid to discuss it and if he has received FDA approval, the $300 is cheap considering they get up to $500 for a VED. What he said was in line with what I have learned the hard (no pun intended) way and read elsewhere.   It might be interesting if he was invited to comment here, as this site is good at vetting these things.   I'm at 18 months post daVinci and things are improvin EDwise especially in the last few months so this area is of interest to me also.

I got a prescription for the Viberect today, and I'm placing my order this afternoon. I'll post results.
Bimix injections work, but almost too well. Based on the discussion on the PCAI mailing list, I'm ready to give this a try.

In the meantime, I've gotten myself on an old fire alarm bell from the local fire department. I've put cotton balls on the clanger and on the bell, and if I position myself just right, I think magic might happen.

At the same time, the muted clanging of the bell will let my wife know when I'm in the mood and potentially ready for some fun.

I saw Jeff's (Worried) TENS unit at GFMPH in September 2010. I raised the possibility of that as an ED aid to Jeff...as it is not a vibrator, it actually can be set to deliver deep tissue electrical muscle stimulation. I thought, hey, if it can cause neck and shoulder muscles to contract and relax...why not elsewhere?

I didn't pursue it too much further as there were already others working on it. However, I remember James C said he really liked the TENS for his neck and shoulders just a short week ago.

I was hoping Paul would bring a Viberect sample to the meet...if it is similar to the TENS, I think there might be some merit there. But, what do I know tongue

I'm still waiting for a shipment notice. Supposedly, their fulfillment center is sending them out now.

I am annoyed that they took my money, but they've promised that they'll refund it if I don't get it before Nov. 19th.

I was remiss in updating; I think I finally received the unit in mid December. I hope that their fulfillment process is working now, because it surely wasn't back then!

I've tried using it a few times, and had no success. I didn't try it with my wife around; I think it would upset her. It's rather noisy.

I use a very weak (7.5/0.5) bi mix, around 0.05ml dose, and that works very well, and probably easier (for me) than the Viberect (if the Viberect worked).

It would be very difficult to get insurance to cover this, even though some plans will cover a VED. My plan (administered by BC/BS) required a DCT or ICD code, and there is none for the device yet.

I gave serious consideration to experiment with the TENS. What kept me from doing so was the need to completely shave so the old pulled hair torture was avoided with the sticky gel pads. I shaved like that once.....ONCE.......never again.. cool

Oh... I see... It had "for men with mild to moderate ED" in the title. I must have read that, said "I wish", and moved on. I lost both nerve bundles.

I experimented with the TENS unit and sadly, no combination or location combination worked. As I moved the probes and contacts I adjusted the voltage up and down so I could feel the electrical pulses. Interestingly I could detect locations where there was absolutely no sensation whatsoever. (I made sure I had good contact. ) Yep. I'm missing some nerves down there. I can map it almost as well as I can map the dead spot where I had knee surgery 30+ years ago.

I will not go into further details but if anyone is interested my email is listed or we can talk about it at a GFMPH meeting.
