Five year mark ~ :-)

Well just got off the phone with my doc. Five years later ~ cancer free. My Cholesterol was a bit high at 210, and my LDL was 49, my HDL was 128. Doc feels I can fix these with diet. My T level is as high as I have ever recorded it at 310. O typically have low T levels. My BP was high at the appointment at 154/102 but I am back on the meds for it and it looks good.

All in all, very good day (Even for a Monday)

That is wonderful news. I vote you as the president of the zero club. We will all try to follow you as our leader.

Great news. You are giving me hope as our profiles are not too different and casodex and lupron are on my immediate horizon.

How did you find the side effects. Were you on for 28 months straight or did you do "the interval" plan (7 months on, and then off)

Congratulations and great going, Tony, what can I say? Five years with your dx and pathology, and you are doing mighty fine, hope you say the same thing at ten years out.

Thanks to all. Yes Ruthie and I are very happy today. We didn't think we'd get a five year remission after the surgery. Technically it won't be a clear five years until March. But it was 5 years ago that we started out with a high PSA and advanced disease. But by the grace of God I am doing very well today...

I rode the Lupron/Casodex ride for 28 months straight. My testosterone has not stopped climbing since October 2009 when I skipped my Lupron shot. All in all the side effects have been tolerable. I had some right after surgery but I dried right up. ED no issue since stopping HT. While on HT there was no libido and no intercourse. It took 6-8 months after stopping the HT to get that back. My wife kept me stocked up on nice trucks and ATV's so the fun was always there.
