Weak Stream 16 Months Post Surgery

In the past month, my urine flow has become weak and intermittant despite removal of my prostate. It was flowing like a firehose post prostetectomy. What could be the cause of this now? Lots of starting and stopping and it takes along time to finish.

Urethra stricture could happen months after prostatectomy. A friend of mine had this problem a few years after surgery/salvage radiation and ended up having treatment to relieve the symptom.

Suggest you see your urologist and have a cystoscopy to see if such is the case.

Need to get it checked by urologist. If it is a stricture and it blocks the flow completely, you will be in for some pain and a trip to the ER. I had a couple of strictures, both of which started slowly and suddenly caused blockage. Sometimes it can be fixed with dilation in the uro's office, but when it gets to be chronic, you will need surgery to correct it. Surgery corrected mine, but there are no guarantees it won't come back. Squid.
