Hi Susan......you will see references to testosterone pills, but they're rarely, if ever used, because they have to be metabolized through the liver, resulting in very little actual tesotsterone getting to cell receptors for use. That's why typical protocols are gel, bio-identical creams, shots or pellets. I never used Androgel, but did start on bio-identical creams. I had to switch because I was converting to estrogen through the aromatase enzyme located primarily in the skin.........I use self-administered intramuscular shots currently. But to your question about
burning-----I know that I was instructed to apply the cream to as
hairless an area of the body as possible. Guys I know who use Androgel have been told the same. Did your MD specifically tell you to apply in the armpits? Perhaps trying a different area of the body would get rid of the burning, and also result in better absorption of the Androgel,--- i.e. shoulders, ribcage, etc.
