Rubin Carter has PC

news on this is rather sketchy. The media never gives actual details and/or facts when writing that celebrities are either on the verge of dying from PCa or have easily overcome the battle and are back to normal.

Just read an article on Carter which stated he has months to live, could barely walk and talk but then mustered up the strength to go to a conference in Perth Australia and that this even alone helped him overcome his situation.

Reporting on celebrities with cancer is a good way to educate the general public, but that education should include actual facts that can really help those interested in learning about the different nature of this disease. Not saying the victims want to share this information, but if a jornalist is going to cove rit he/she should at least try to get the details.

Wonder if he will make a dying mans confession- he got off on the basis that he did not get a fair trial - prosecutors would not re-try him given that so much time had elapsed- huge amount of evidence against him-given a chance to prove his innocence he failed one lie detector test and refused several others- I think he was up to his neck in these murders-

I appreciate that you have job to do but how come another member can have forty or fifty postings about books he has written (not about prostate cancer) and I get knocked for one short comment on a public figure who apparently is dying from prostate cancer- just wondering.

If the person in question (Carter) was a member here, and discussing his day to day life, I would not have issues. However, as an object of other's discussions, we should not denegrate him. He is not on the board to defend himself.

I have my opinions, but I have to put them aside. I think he will have a reckoning of his own regardless of what we think.

Respectfully, I think you are missing the point here.

Rule 3 would appear to refer mainly to attacks or insults in relation to other members.

Surely Rule 3 was not contemplated to apply to comments about "public figures".

I think that OJ Simpson got away with murder- no different than my comment about Rubin Carter- wouldn't you agree?
