Alpharadin (Radium 223) - anyone had it?

 

Has anyone been part of the ALSYMPCA clinical trial using Alpharadin (Rm223)?  I'm looking for any patient experiences.  Email me direct if you've had this treatment - JManarite@pcri.org.

Watch for Alpharadin (Radium 223) to be available in a loosely designed trial w/ No placebo, called "Expanded Access" - possibly next week. I will send you and email as soon as I know. Important to note that Alphardin is for men with bone mets, some amount of pain, CRPC. You canNOT have lung mets in this trial. Not a lot of sites yet, so you may have to travel (again - not yet open). LINK below.

Treatment is like getting a bone scan injection, and is given every 4 weeks. You can have up to 6.

Must hydrate before, possible diarrhea (treatable). Goal is pain relief - but slow in PSA progression was documented in some, and there was a benefit in overall survival.

Dr Oliver Sartor is the one to thank for bringing this drug to the US, and working on an Expanded Access Program. I am part of the Early/Expanded Access Committee trying to communicate these opportunities.

Boogee- is it already known useful in bone pain useage, I hope to see it is very useful and not just a so-so new therapy.
