Almost exactly two years ago, on August 20, 2010, I had a DaVinci prostatectomy. I lost a nerve bundle in the process. Contrary to popular wisdom, I was operated on by a well-respected uro/surgeon who had done only about
50 DaVinci procedures (but a ton of
open procedures).
This morning, for the first time in two years, my wife and I had normal husband/wife sexual relations!!!
Can you believe that? After two whole years. 730 days.
I never gave up hope, but that's a long, long time. We've been sexually active during that time, but without erections. Beginning about a month ago, with the help of Levitra, but not entirely dependent on it, the nerves have been gradually coming back to life. Today....well, not quite like in my 20's, but not bad for 67 years old, if I may say so myself.
Last night I replied to an individual who had surgery this past April and who was worried that not much was happening sexually for him yet. I say again, be patient. It has taken me two years to get back to where I am now, but you just never know. I hope guys will eventually dredge this up from the archives and that it will keep hope alive for them.
Needless to say, I'm a happy guy right now. I'm gonna have to edit my signature, I guess.
