Latest PSA...a quick question...

 

Had my blood drawn last Friday and got the results this morning from my GP receptionist. This is the first time using a lab different than the hospital's where I had my surgery done. In the past, it has been <0.10 with "undetectable" as a comment. Using the new lab, the latest results are <0.04....the receptionist didn't say "undetectable" was a comment.

The detection limits of the hospital lab tests in the past was 0.10 and I am assuming with the new lab the detection limits are 0.04 since the results were <0.04? Yes?

They seem to have "upgraded" your test.

"<" implies undectectable for the test used.

I thought I had seen a thread or two on this board (some time ago) that mentioned a test with a detection threshold of 0.04...

Outstanding!! You are a Zero..undetectable--that's what the weird sign means..i had 2 psa. Tests in 1 week--.05 & .03 with the weird sign..4 years of college wasted--2 different labs. At 70 i still learn something every day..forget a lot also--bill
