Fox,
Healingwell is owned by the admin, Peter Waite. You can contact him as admin@healingwell.com.
I don't know what criteria he might have for opening a new forum, but I can identify some of the concerns that I would expect any site owner to have:
- Cost of infrastructure. There is an inherent cost to buy and support the disk space for the site, and cost of the service provider which provides the network facilities. That is why there are seemingly "bad" rules about such things as long signatures and duplicate posts. They chew up disk space. It is not free.
- Membership. There must be enough members in any forum to maintain a valid and lively exchange of information.
- Moderators. There must be volunteers, who know the basics of the condition, who can provide basic welcome and information to all newcomers, and are welcome to spend a lot of their personal time on-line. You've likely seen that in the PCa forum, we have a lot of guys who step up to welcome and help the new guys. That is not always the case. In some forums, this all falls on the mods. Some forums are small, and some are without moderators at present. It makes it difficult.
- Interest. All of the above has to morph together, to help with attracting new members, and advertisers to help pay the costs.
I'm sure that Peter gets a lot of requests for new forums. I have directed many to him with such questions.
