A refrainment please.

We all do it so I will not mention names in this case and the thread really needs no replies. So refrain pls
Its the post that includes a line like this. , There is a person who does "so and so or such and such ' of a negative nature, but I won't mention any names. Please either don't write that line but if you must , do mention the name. By not mentioning the name you indict all and more importantly it seems hypocritical as if by not mentioning the name, you are some how being "kind" to said individual, which you in no way are. So refrain pls.

I only put "we all do this" as a literary device so as not to have to list folks that I know do it. {I probably have done.} Other wise the thesis would be contradicted by itself and useless and I do not want to lose the point which I believe is valid. I thoroughly understand that the same dilemma can turn it on its head and make it comical. Im clever , but not that clever or I would be able to figure another way to make the statement. I totally believe others do it but are in the minority.But saying that again forces me to name them , hence negating my own thread by doing exactly what the thread says not to do. It is literally a paradox. I suppose if I said only I do it and for the rest of you to be careful not to do that it might solve the paradox. but that would not be true. One sentence that is a paradoxical one would be: " It is true that every bodies statement is a lie" Well that statement itself can't be true because every bodies statement is a lie, ad infinitetum. ad infinitum. Thats the best I can do. Bottom line I don't believe any of us should do "it" for the reasons stated in original thread. I hope this thread stays on the thrust of the thread and not get sidelined by the paradox of trying to state it. One person who will understand this paradox is compiler, because it is connected to math/physics. Again pay attention to the major point of the thread and refrain from doing it, whoever you are. It actually quite comical as I try to fathom how to frame it. I can't…….

I had to think for a second what c**p was.

Not really sure of all which Logo is saying, but sure HW has its share of disagreements and arguments. Sometimes things are said that shouldn't. But then for the most part, people apologize or we agree to disagree and we move on. What family doesn't go through that.

The neat thing about this family is that you can go on vacation for one day, one month, or even a year....and always come back and it will be here with a ton of men and women who still care.

I'm with overthepond. I actually forgot my password its been so long since I've been on this site. When I first joined, I would say that about 40% of the discussion threads were - to coin a phrase --- c**p. Its now much closer to 70-80%. I still look in every once and awhile and still hope to use the forum to ask a relevant PROSTATE CANCER related question or to offer information   -when asked  - about PROSTATE CANCER treatments, side effects ect.  I can do without the rest of the stuff that goes on in here

I looked briefly at the last 100 posts and close to 80% to 90% seem to be PC related.  C**P is subjective I suppose, but within those 80-90% I see a lot of support and good information as it relates to PC, treatements, side effects, and the related.

I agree that there are times when the board gets a bit heated and get a bit off track, but the vast majority of the posts are support related and/or informative.

I think if you will do a Monte Carlo analysis -- read random comments on random threads and keep score -- you will find that there is not that much c**p here as a percentage and that most of the threads are people being helpful. That said, it does rather spoil the flow when an occasional t**d floats by and, as a moderator, it would suit me OK if you guys would behave.

Your paradox is poorly constructed. He shaves himself exactly once.

if you are thin skinned the internet is not the place for you.  use the ignore button or stay off threads that offend you.  when you feel like the sky is falling and it's everyone else's fault take a break for awhile.

you cannot change the behavior of others.  the only thing you can change is your participation.

I believe threads like this stir up more crap than they solve because they solve nothing.  they only serve to promote finger pointing and more discord.
