Hi Maars and welcome to HW. Brachy was likely a good choice for you and there is a very high liklihood that you will be cured and that SE's will be minimal. I'm almost five years post-LDR Brachy and doing great as I expect you will also. Feel free to copy and paste my long winded journey at the end of my signature.
The condensed version of what you might expect is:
1. Some occasional urgency and frequency for the first few months. This is generally handled by Flomax and you should avoid caffeine during this time.
2. Blood in your semen during your first few escapades after the procedure.
3. Diminished semen over time. I'm down to about 30% of what I used to have; others report total loss of semen.
4. In some cases (not mine, I was lucky) there may be some bowel issues like blood in the stool or loose stools. The should go away in a day or two but if they don't you should call your RO.
5. Some patients (I did not) report feeling a little tired during the first months after the procedure. It's unclear whether this is a radiation effect or just let down from the intensity of discovering cancer and handling the treatment decision.
6. At your age, if your sexual functionlity was good pre-procedure you are likely to have no problems in that department. If you do, the little blue pill is reported to work well.
Assuming all goes normally, that's pretty much it. You should generally expect to live a normal life, with normal urinary functions and normal sex.
Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
Jim
