Hey Pepsiguy ......
So sorry to hear about your news on Xtandi. I can empathize with you since I had the same kind of results earlier this Summer. I was on Xtandi for only two months before my Onco took me off of it. What was even worse was that his office has been having very good luck with Xtandi ... so I was really excited once starting it in late June.
My Onco suggested Provenge. I have recently got sick and tired of my body being pierced and abused with chemicals - so the catheter for Provenge was one of my problems. And since my PSA was climbing pretty rapidely - last test at 66.5 ... staying off of PSA tests and steroids was another discomfort factor for me.
I had a second opinion, from an Onco who does use Provenge very often, and his recommendation for me was "it would not likely do me any good". But he was happy to see that my recent bonescan (3-weeks ago) was nearly unchanged from my last bonescan in October - 2011.
So my treating Onco agreed with the second opinion ... and I start Jevtana this Friday. Can't say I'm happy about it .... but I still do have the freakin port in my chest from the taxotere injections I had last year.
So, at least, it's not another puncture into my body - only to be removed in a month or two. Been there ... done that ... with a Kidney dialysis port in 2011.
Wishing you the best ... and hope the Provenge does work for you much better than it was projected for me.
Peace ............................................. Rob
