New rule change at HW: Medical Marijuana can be discussed

They've nabbed a few dealers. Users? Yes. I helped put a guy away for 10 months. He was selling and growing without proper credentials.

This was in Cali.

That sounds like the Federal Government prosecuted illegal dealers not legal (state legal) MM distributors.

Buddy, I admire your passion and accept your position on MM. But, and I'm not looking for an argument here, the use of MM is not about making a person who is ill feel good...it's about helping to minimize some of the horrible side effects of their particular illness or medical condition. You mention other legal drugs that could do the same thing as MM...true, there are many, many good narcotics that can help people in pain. And each and every one of those drugs has the potential to be lethal, and each and every one of those drugs are sold and used illegally.

I've found that just because something is illegal doesn't make it wrong from a moral perspective. When my father was dying from terminal stomach cancer, he was in the military hospital in Weisbaden, Germany. My dad was experiencing very bad pain from his waist down, and the pain was escalating daily. The nurse, a wonderful lieutenant, took me aside and told me that the only thing that would work for my father would be morphine morphine. But, she wanted me to understand that due to its highly addictive nature, the dosage would have to be increased on a regular basis in order to control the pain, and eventually would reach a level where my father's "desire to breath" would be "inhibited." I refused to watch my father suffer any more than he already had, and he slipped away peacefully and without pain. Sometimes, right trumps legal.

Buddy, really please look at the piece by Sanjay Gupta.... all of it if you don't mind.

 I disagree , MM would indeed be helpful with very advanced Pca and the guys that are doing chemo...., I do agree not so with the less advanced cases.

BTW. nobody is forced to use MM, it is merely an option for some it is a lifesaver for others not so.

Paralleli I sent the investigators what I had on the guy. He did time 30 years ago for selling drugs. He was hooked on meth then. Used to guzzle Colt 45 to come down off the speed. I don't think guys like that should be walking around with the rest of us.

In NYS.....being a user of M and having less than 25 Grams is basically a citation.....similar to a traffic ticket.

That said I blanked out my post because technically it really didn't have anything to do with Medical M. More for. recreational purposes.

And yes Buddy...If you read it, I stand by that 100%....can only say how it was for me.....and many other guys I know.

heres a little something I found on the net....and since PC has a lot to do with ED and sex....Id say this should be OK

•At lower doses, marijuana may alter how you sense and perceive sexual stimuli in ways that enhance sex. People report that their awareness of touch is heightened, and their perception of time can change. So things "feel" better, and sex seems to go on longer as well.
•For men, marijuana may shift attention away from their usual focus on the penis. In one survey of 800 men, 83 percent found that marijuana enhanced sexual pleasure, but this was unrelated to their erections or ejaculatory control.
•In another study, 75 percent of men said that marijuana increased sexual pleasure and satisfaction, 68 percent reported that it enhanced their orgasm, and 39 percent found that it increased the duration of intercourse.
•Women are even more likely than men to report enhanced sexual desire with marijuana use. In one study, 90 percent of women reported that marijuana increased feelings of sexual pleasure and satisfaction to varying degrees, and 40 percent of women reported that marijuana increased the quality of their orgasm.


and one thing this doesn't mention is the fact THC increases the heart rate which in turn increases the blood flow.

I don't use it anymore.....but before I knew I had PC it worked great for my ED....I would have rather known I had a good reason for the ED though...which I found out soon enough. haven't used it in awhile.....and definitely never used it during my 21 years in the army....they do that random test thing...and while I was in...100% testing on no notice. Certainly can be a career breaker, no doubt.

So what exactly is it about weed that turns people on?

Besides the obvious: it heightens your senses, relaxes you and makes you feel hyper connected, there are also physiological effects.

Along with an increased heart rate, changes in blood flow and respiration, according to William Novak, author of the 1980 tome, High Culture: Marijuana in the Lives of Americans, "Neurochemistry, hormonal systems and brain regions such as the temporal lobe are affected by both marijuana and sexual arousal."

That's because THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), the active ingredient in pot, not only releases dopamine in the brain -- causing the "high" -- it actually replicates the effects of a sexy little naturally occurring neurochemical called anandamide.


Once again I post this as a rebuttal on some who feel M has no place for PC....I believe it does as many men are suffering from sexual performance on this cancer.

mels point was who cares about long term studies if your a cancer patient on chemo....The cancer will kill you long before the weed does.
