December Tests -- Met with the vampire today-- what about you?

No anxiety whatsoever. Today I had to submit blood for a variety of tests (liver/kidney/metabolic panel).

I will probably be a bit nervous by Wednesday afternoon, when I go to get the results.

While important, I don't consider this a high stakes test, ala the PSA test.

If my liver enzymes are high, I will probably have to stop the Casodex. That happened before, my liver enzymes returned to normal, and we resumed the Casodex. I already tested again 1 months after resuming the Casodex. So far, so good. If I have to stop the Casodex, it will be disappointing. However, I am close to a HT vacation anyway and I'll be there if my high stakes test (February) are decent.

Anyway, let's keep this as the leadoff post for our December tests. Feel free to post your own information here.

I'll be raining on any December parades and waiting until January for my first PSA in a year. First time I have waited that long but should go well...

17 Dec for me. Because of some big insurance change issues, am considering pulling the trigger on the next Lupron shot in December anyway.

Mel and others,

Praying for all of us guys and hoping for the best. I should be scheduled for my PSA test in Jan. 2014! Rejoicing because my last PSA was "0.0" Oct. 2nd!

This had been a very rough ride, but I've held on and still holding on for my life.

Blood draw this morning, too early for me to get worked up about it. I hope to hit a new normal sometime soon before 0.2. A little anxiety but not too bad.

the vampire got me last month. Except for needing some vitamin D, everything turn out fine.

Well, I got my test results. More worries. I was worried about the liver enzymes. They are terrific, well within the normal range (lower part). But my BUN and creatinine levels are up quite a bit. The former is at 32 (highest normal is 20) and the latter at 1.42 (highest normal is 1.25).

 

 

I have calls in to my local doctor (he will get back to me tomorrow) and Dr. Lam's PA.

 

Looks like kidney problems, or maybe the test results are not significant.

Jeez Mel, you better be careful here. You look like you are beginning to venture into the land of a few others in the "Can't Catch a Break Club".

All kidding aside, I hope that this is just a blip on the radar for you and does not portend anything worthy of great merit and concern.

Update:

Dr. Lam's office called (his PA)

She assured me that those numbers are not that bad. I do need to follow up with my family doctor.

I have had high blood pressure on and off for the last 8 months. It has kind of been borderline as to whether or not to get on medication. We have been opting not to add another darn pill. That might change

Draw blood 8am in morning, Friday the 13th will be my 7th anniversary surgery day. Always take the 4 friends who traveled to 3 hours the day of my surgery to be there @7am, out to lunch to celebrate on the 13th, this will be our 7th year.

I had my 3 year checkup this week. PSA is still zero and everything else is good. My only complaint these days is arthritic hips.

Gave blood last week and all I got in return was a big ZERO!! Well really a <.10. Keeping the streak alive.

This was the toughest one ever as I must have been a bit dehydrated. Took three pokes to find liquid.

Enjoying an early Christmas gift here. Recently had my first blood draw to check effect of supplemental T and make sure PSA does not budge. PSA is still <0.01 and T is moving up.

Life is good.
