Boo Hoo cry

Last year I didn't go to Florida for a niece's wedding because I went to Baton Rouge.... Could only afford one trip.

This year her sister is getting married in January...which I've already said I couldn't go...

If I went to Florida in March - my family would disown me. (my other family)

Steve, man I'm so sad that you won't be able to join us in FL. I guess that means that were going to have to make it your way.

It is great to see that the excitement about the March event is gaining ground.

I have had a couple of requests for information about the hotel accommodations and reservations. But please bear with me for a little while.

I am in the process of negotiating a confirmed contract with the hotel. When it is complete we will have a block of rooms (enough for everybody) and following a prescribed procedure for making reservations should allow us to pay without having to pay the 16% taxes on hotels in FL.

I will update you folks on everything as soon as this process is completed. It will most likely be after Christmas but before the end of the year.

Also, by my last count, we have 40 folks planning to attend at this point. There is no doubt that this will turn out to be the largest gathering we have had to date.

Boy is this going to be fun,

Well Heck, If Todd and Amanda will be there, Dianne and I will too!! I miss all my brothers from the GFMPH cruise and I suspect many of the newbies from the cruise will be there too.

We have reserved a 26ft motor coach in Orlando and we will be driving and staying in the Sonny Florida campground so we will not miss one minute of the fun. Also much closer to the new pool and hot tub. March 21 is also my birthday

Hi Sonny, I would love to attend. Unfortunately had to miss Rochester in September. Please send info on hotel? What is best airport to fly into? nothing like having an excuse to get out of Connecticut in March. BB

BBFan, man than it is great news to hear that you will make it down here in March. We sure missed you at NY.

The closest airport is Orlando. It is exactly 41 miles from my front door. It is 70mph highway all the way until the last 3 miles and only one traffic light.

As you may have read above, I am currently working on a deal with the hotel and hope to have it finalized in the next week or so. I will update everyone as soon as I have the final details.

Terry, I already have your spot reserved and marked out. Looking forward to seeing you and your lovely wife again. April seems like a long time ago for sure. We missed you guys in NY.

And I would like to add, nice job on the cruise. I have been reading all of the HW and facebook posts from the cruise and seems like it was way over the top. A great time was had by all.

Just put together a list of the attendees as it stands today and we have 21 HW brothers and a total of 41 planning to come.

This number also includes 6 first time attendees to a GFMPH gathering.

I am so stoked to be hosting this time. With 3 months left to go there is no doubt that this will be the largest event to date.

This will be number 9 and I am very proud to say that this will be my 8th time getting together with my friends and fellow warriors.

I have got to keep myself busy so that the days pass more quickly,

We have the airfare on our watch list. Right now, it is super expensive from Colorado. Fares go on sale every Tuesday, so we will see what happens. I definitely want to hit another event in the near future.

I will be sending each of you an email this evening about the hotel accommodations. If you do not have an email listed, you need to send one to my active email address to get this info.

It is something I do not feel is right to publish here on HW.

Remember us pad guys won't be in the pool, lest we absorb all the fresh water in Florida. Those high capacity ones would collapse the axle on the local garbage truck!

Sonny, with so many people coming to the gathering at one time, is there any risk that the extra weight will tip Florida over and fall off into the ocean?

Just thinking ahead for contingencies. like a floating RV idea smhair

You have obviously never lived in Florida or you would know that the state is protected from tipping by the underlying limestone strata that forms the "bedrock" for most of the state. The limestone is permeated by groundwater that is gradually dissolving it so the limestone develops openings (caverns of various sizes) forming, in effect, a huge sponge. When too much weight is concentrated in one place the porous limestone sponge simply collapses, forming a sinkhole that swallows the heavy objects before they can tip the state over.

So you don't need to worry about tipping the state. The ground will open up an swallow us before that can happen.

So you won't worry.

I lived in FL many years growing up, it's sink holes you have to be concerned about. One minute a nice house, voom, then a deep hole in the ground, lol.

Speaking clothe pins, on our first cruise, an entire group of foreigners took over the two aft hot tubs, and stripped to their underwear, and were washing their clothes while in the hot tub. Wished I had videoed it, but didn't have camera handy. It was disgusting and funny at the same time. The men took one hot tub, and the women had the other.

51 people? That is beyond amazing, Sonny, truly amazing. You may have to incorporate your new home as a town.
