just posting it as stepping stone to rework the process - aromatization of testosterone to estrogen

purpose- to eliminate symptoms of menopause-like symptom of HT - mood swings, hot flashes, depression - while slowing down PCa.

My last posting on this subject was in February. A lot has happens and generally on the positive side. I learned a lot about myself - different approaches to well-being - and continue to learn how to "think outside the box on matters of health / self-awareness and respect / and allowing yourself to be happy.

I am continuing my alternative course of action taking supplements that naturally suppress my testosterone and increase estrogen levels in order to reduce the chance of the return of prostate cancer.

I found this segment online about hormones used in taking care of transgendered women (MTF - male to female) and it echoed my concept and approach which eluded many of the readers of my original posting.

To reduce such health risks I proposed using one's own testosterone turned into estrogen - as a anti-androgen that is part of the man's own chemical makeup - not a foreign injectable hormone. Paralleling the approach with the concept of Provenge in which it uses the man's own blood to create a vehicle to combat prostate cancer.

My last PSA was fantastic - < 0.0.10 down from post-radiation of 0.035 and I attribute it to the supplement regime I am on.
My blood work was inconclusive as to what the bovine ovary pill people stated would occur. My estrogen level was within range but my testosterone was up from reading 3 years ago - not the one just before radiation.

I will be seeing my doctor about getting tested again ( hopefully monthly) to see that everything is ok .

I have had no depression, night sweats, hot flashes, nor side effects similar to menopause. I have had some increase in pec size but no breast buds behind the nipples (as described by some estrogen injection patients). I do enjoy shopping more and find myself less angry and content. I am happy.

And for me to say that is a miracle in itself.

Hope you understand my approach and I will be submitting my findings to my doctors in Toronto.
I will keep you updated on my PSA levels and the state of my health. I am back at the gym looking to lose another 40 # to help me deal with my COPD and my scoliosis.

Tatt2man, Im with you on your regime, good luck. Just to clarify, you are using a regime of HT, specific, to your knowledge and are not on standard HT medical protocol traditionally used my main stream medicos for Pca. Or is it a combination treatment,i.e your out of the box protocol and mainstream. Are you getting any flack from mainstream, if so how are you dealing with such?

It is not standard protocol for PCa - I just put two concepts together and they satisfied both desired end results - being a win-win situation.

I have always wanted a bigger chest (am finally admitting I am a feminine gay man) and was afraid of having the PCa come back after SRT - and cannot afford traditional HT routine let alone the known side effects.

My outside the box approach has achieved what I wanted - PSA < 0.010 in a mere 2-3 months time... will monitor it to see that it stays that way - and a chest I like that I could not achieve with 3 years of lifting weights and body building routines and HIT ( high intensity training) - the gym rats at the gym I go to look on with jealousy. (grin)
