Welcome! As we've discussed, you won't likely notice any side effects for 3-4 weeks. Most likely then are probably fatigue and hot flashes.

Other physical changes happen by around 3 months.

The pod people in the movies looked male and female, according to who they were replicating, but I think the naughty bits were just for decoration, rather like mine. After all, they reproduce by sneaking into their neighbors' closets to hide giant mutant okra pods so they are more likely to get worked up in the produce aisle, or in the "home organization" department of a big box home builders supply store, than at a nudie bar. We real life pod people aren't that into closets ... well... ocasionally ... just to try on our neighbor's wife's shoes, but not as a general rule.

Sonny/Sonya, I just got another shot of Lupron today, and it has been roughly a year now for me, so I suppose it could be adjustina and I. No sense repeating the possible SE's, as I'm sure you are well prepared.

Do let us know when you experience your first hot flash, it's a hoot.... you may be turning down the temp on the pool (or throwing some ice cubes in it).

Well if you can be Sonya, guess I have to be LupronJamelle.

I had my half birthday 2 days before yours, as was the case of each of 65th birthdays last August. So respect you elder, Sonny.

In my case the Lupron side effects had disappered and took the libido with it, but at least no hot flashes and no fatigue.

Worth it though. Prostate size one year ago at diagnosis was 50.4, yesterday the transrectal ultrasound came in at 31.6. So hopfully hte bone mets have shrunk proportionately -40%.

PSA has gone from 3.68 to 0.90 to 068 to 0.40 to 0.20 and now 0.12. Not bad for a guy who still has his cancerous prostate. Still aiming for that elusive zero club assuming one does nto have to be post-op to join.

Testosterone was 005 in November and now lower than the test can score at <003.
Ironicv that I used to be treeated for low T and now doing everythig I can to minimize it.

even though we are both in Sunny Florida, I highly recommend having your serum D measured and taking as much as 10,000 IU a day if it is on low end of normal. Seems to have helped a lot.

It's almost impossible to get your vitamin D too high but have to monitor the calcium.

Also a DEXA bone density scan to get a baseline on osteoporosis and a monthly Xgeva shot to prevent so called adverse skeletal events since Lupron can weaken our aged bones.
